FSU POLICE DEPARTMENT
Assistant Vice President for Safety and Chief of Police — The Chief of Police works daily to set the direction of the department, answers community concerns, concerns of the police department staff and facilitates obtaining the necessary resources for the Police Department. The Chief of Police also develops good working relationships with the Command Level personnel at other local police and public safety agencies.
Deputy Chief — The Deputy Chief of the Police oversees the Operations Division, Support Services Division and all Investigative functions for the department. The Uniform Operations division includes all Patrol, Traffic, Communications, Security Officers, Special Events and all Policing Functions. The Support Services Division includes Crime Prevention, Training, Accreditation, Traffic Safety programs and the Citizen's Police Academy. The Investigative functions includes Crimes, Internal Affairs, Administrative and Background Investigations.
TRANSPORTATION & PARKING SERVICES (TAPS)
Director — The Director of Transportation & Parking is responsible for all aspects of transportation systems and parking services, including transportation master planning, the bus transit system, parking facilities and operations, bicycle programs, and transportation demand management.
Director — The Director of Emergency Management oversees Florida State University’s efforts to prepare for, prevent, respond to, recover from and mitigate against the effects of a wide variety of emergencies and disasters that could adversely affect the health, safety, and/or general welfare of its students, faculty, staff, visitors, and families. The Director coordinates the University’s Emergency Management Team, maintains the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP), conducts situational awareness monitoring, training, exercises, campus disaster preparedness education and collaboration with our community partners. The Director manages the FSU Alert, emergency notification and warning system.
CAMPUS ACCESS AND SECURITY SYSTEMS (CASS)
Assistant Director — The Assistant Director of CASS is responsible for the design and operations of security systems, including card access, video surveillance, intrusion alarm systems, and emergency bluelights across campus.
